Supporting Carers at Work
Over the past few weeks we have been working with The Carers Support Network at Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust, to create a video resource about carers in the workforce, exploring the important roles of managers and colleagues. Our story features Emily, who is a carer for her partner, Jade. And it’s already receiving excellent reviews from our clients.
During Carers Week we will make this video available free of change to any employer looking to support carers and their managers. Do get in touch for the link.
How much do unpaid carers contribute to the health and care system?
In financial terms Carers UK put the figure at £132bn per year! Yes you read that correctly! It’s a staggering amount of money. But that’s only part of the story. Over a million people are providing 50 hours + of unpaid care per week.
What is the real cost?
The real cost is poorer health for the carers.
