The buzz of doing what you love!!!!

Last Friday we got to deliver 2 bespoke Forum Theatre workshops for an NHS Finance Department. And even after a full on weekend, I am holding on to the warmth, the laughter, the genuine enquiry, the excitement and the knowledge that we delivered something very meaningful.

Importantly:

– Our user research enabled us to script scenarios that 100% reflected our audience’s everyday challenges.

– The pre-workshop information set out how we work and got rid of anxiety about role-playing. Our professional actors are there to do that stuff!

– Our audience embraced the opportunity to re-direct the scenes, providing on point, timely feedback to turn things around. Safe participation is at the heart of forum theatre and drama-based learning.

– Laughter echoed round the room but there were quiet moments of reflection too. Having fun helps learning and is a key element of forum theatre.

But it doesn’t end there.

This week I will send out our follow-up resources including video clips so the teams can continue to review, reflect and embed any changes to the way they work.
